Tarzana Treatment Center
This page includes videos that are currently stored within the WCFTR database and associated with the series: Tarzana Treatment Center.
In 1971, Clarke worked with patients at the Tarzana Treatment Center. At this rehabilitation center, Clarke worked with patients who had HIV/AIDS by creating art workshops. Participants made masks, drew portraits, and put on theatrical performances that educated audiences about AIDS. Such performances offer guidance on safe sex practices, and shows how support can be given to those living with the diagnosis. Personal experiences are shared to exemplify the unjust treatment of those living with HIV/AIDS. These tapes must be viewed on-site at the Wisconsin Center for Film and Theater Research in Madison, WI.
